Signal House

Signal House

Many of the military items you will see here belong to two collectors, Anthony Bowman and Joe Ford, both Pendleton residents. Their dedication to this exhibit began with fundraising right alongside the Umatilla County Historical Society in order to remodel the building before their displays could be installed.

This Signal House is an original property of the Union Pacific Railroad, once functioning as an office for the Railroad Signal Department. While no documents have been found showing the official date of construction, the Signal House is shown on historic maps dating back to 1914.
